Director of Business Development
Robert Rasmussen is a native of Denmark. He has a degree in Psychology as well as a Master's degree in Education from The Royal Danish School of Education in Copenhagen. Robert is a former employee of LEGO, where he worked from 1988 to 2003 heading the development team for LEGO MINDSTORMS. Robert is the main architect of LEGO SERIOUS PLAY. After several years and more than 20 iterations,he and his team developed the concept into a reproducible and robust methodology. From 2001 to 2003 Robert managed Executive Discovery,which developed and marketed the LEGO SERIOUS PLAY programs. He was responsible for all operations, product development, marketing and delivery of consulting services with this new methodology for strategic decision making and organizational learning. Currently, Robert Rasmussen wears many hats. He is the principal for Robert Rasmussen & Associates LLC, the director of business development for the CEEO, and co-president for the Center for Balance by Design,a research-based organization committed to providing companies,institutions, and others with the tools to create a more inclusive work culture that combines elements of work, learning, physical design, and living in an integrated and balanced structure. Robert has spent his career applying experiences and theories about playing, learning,creativity, teaching and organizational development. He has worked extensively over a 10-year period with designers and researchers at Tufts University and the MIT Media Lab to develop and market hands-on learning tools. His extensive experiences have netted him numerous invitations to speak at conferences and workshops around the world about "hands-on knowledge" and how to design tools and environments that use this knowledge to optimize learning.
