This one-week program is a chance for girls to participate in
individual and small-team design projects while fostering an
understanding of the engineering design process. Students will work with LEGO bricks, accompanying software, and art materials as they design, build, and program robotics creations. The students are encouraged to look at aesthetics as well as function. Two of this summer's projects will include a parade and a kinetic sculpture. Each of the activities will be centered around a design challenge that will include robotic and artistic elements.
Although the program is educational, we want the children to enjoy
themselves and have fun. Activities
are structured to encourage students to make connections with other
campers. Time is spent outside each day, weather permitting.
Camp staff is a collection of CEEO staff with engineering,
education, and child development backgrounds, and Tufts engineering
students. The ratio of staff to campers is very low so that we may
offer each student individual attention.
